Katie Boulter and Alex de Minaur celebrated their four-year anniversary by posting a picture of themselves together on Instagram.

The couple are currently competing at the Miami Open, with the British No 1 having booked her place in the third round of the tournament after her 16-year-old opponent Brenda Fruhvirtova was forced to retire from their match on Thursday.

The pair, who have been labelled ‘tennis’ new power couple’, initially got together in 2020 and have risen through the ranks to become two of the sport’s most prominent stars.

On Thursday, Boulter, 27, posted a shot of herself and De Minaur on Instagram showing Boulter smiling at her boyfriend as they looked into eachother’s eyes.

She appeared to be wearing a ring on her wedding finger, but the Brit shut down any talk that the pair had gotten engaged.

Their blossoming romance amid the fierce competition both players face on the WTA and ATP Tours has been the talk of tennis for some time, with both rising to stardom for their feats on the court.

The pair have shared numerous snaps over the years showing their lives away from the tennis court. One of the first came in 2021, where Boulter posted a picture of the pair celebrating their first anniversary. The picture showed them stood on a beach, with the Brit writing: ‘Not sure how you’ve put up with me this long. Happy one year @alexdeminaur’

Boulter and De Minaur currently rent a house together in SW19, not too far from Wimbledon’s hallowed grounds and both have enjoyed success in the past few years.

In fact, world No 30, Boulter, is enjoying an excellent season having recently beaten Marta Kostyuk to win the WTA500 Cymbiotika San Diego Open.

De Minaur has also picked up silverware in 2024, defeating Casper Ruud to win the ATP500 in Acapulco, having previously been beaten in the finals of the ABN AMRO Open in Rotterdam by Jannik Sinner.

The pair are regularly seen watching eachother from the stands at their events and while they have been thrust into the limelight, Boulter said they are focused on just playing tennis and staying grounded.

‘I haven’t seen any of the newspapers,’ she laughed when asked about now being in the eye of the general public and not just tennis fans.

‘But I am here feeling very privileged. I have to get a job done and keep grounded. I need to work as much as possible to keep as ready as ever.

‘I wouldn’t say anything has changed (since being No 1). I love to have that feeling when the crowd is roaring and I appreciate it more than anything else on this planet, hopefully I can use that.

On Thursday, De Minaur and Rinky Hijikata were knocked out of the men’s doubles tournament at the Miami Open, suffering a 6-3 6-4 defeat by his compatriot Kokkinakis and Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Despite that, De Minaur is still in the draw for the men’s singles and has a chance to book his place in the third round also if he defeats South Korean player Kwon Soon-woo on Friday.

Boulter will come up against world No 13 Beatriz Haddad Maia in her next match in Miami, with the Brazilian defeating Diane Parry 6-3 1-6 4-6 in the Round of 64.
