Josh Hart of the New York Knicks won the hearts of old school Knicks fans by giving Reggie Miller a brutal reminder of how much he is hated in New York. He didn’t even wait for the game to end, interrupting Miller during the game broadcast so the message could be heard on live TV.
New York took Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinal series against Miller’s former team, the Indiana Pacers, by a score of 130-121. The Knicks lead the series 2-0, winning both games in front of a raucous Madison Square Garden.
Why do the Knicks hate Reggie Miller?
Miller knows exactly how it feels to be on the wrong side of the fans in that building. One of the most iconic moments of his playing career came in a Pacers-Knicks playoff series in 1995. He singlehandedly stole Game 1 in New York by scoring eight points in nine seconds and following it up with his famous “choke” sign aimed at the Knicks.
Even though Indiana went on to lose the series, Knicks fans never let that game and gesture go. On Wednesday night at MSG, the crowd chanted “F- you Reggie” while Miller served as the analyst on the TNT broadcast.

Just in case he didn’t hear the deafening crowd, Knicks iron man Hart went out of his way to make sure Reggie knew how everyone in that building felt, approaching the broadcast table while the game was still going on but Indiana was clearly headed to its 2-0 deficit.
“I think they said ‘F- You.’ I don’t know if you heard it though,” Hart said with a wry smile.
Miller heard it, and so did the rest of the audience at home. Older fans have held the grudge for years, but it seems even players of the new revitalized Knicks generation aren’t ready to let it go.
