Ja Morant has confidently declared Baltimore Ravens‘ quarterback, Lamar Jackson, to be the MVP and he isn’t the only one backing the call for the 27-year-old to be recognized as the NFL’s best.
Lebron James also took to X, formerly Twitter, to also back the cause after the QB dominated the Houston Texans in a 34-10 AFC Divisional round where he passed for two touchdowns and rushed for two more.

“MVP”, Morant posted to the Elon Musk-owned platform, quite simply saying what many are thinking. James, on the other hand, was slightly more animated as he wrote: “Man I LOVE Lamar Jackson!!!!!”
James’ football credentials
James has been a long-time fan of American football, and considering his achievement of earning eight MVPs across his career (four NBA Finals, four regular season) and his status as the greatest of all-time, depending on who you ask, means he knows what it takes to reach the top.
The Los Angeles Lakers legend also played high school football, showing his prowess in two different sports, before selecting basketball. There he operated as a tight end and wide receiver for St. Vincent St. Mary’s despite being six-feet eight-inches tall and weighing 232 pounds.
He averaged 20 yards per reception and caught 23 touchdowns over two seasons His sophomore year saw him notch up 905 yards for seven touchdowns. As a junior he made 57 catches, 1160 yards and 16 touchdowns.
He was recognized as Mr. Ohio, awarded to the state’s best high school football player, and was an All-state in both seasons so in another universe, maybe he went on to be an NFL legend instead.
His career in football came to an end after he sustained a wrist injury during his senior year, meaning he chose to prioritize basketball instead where he is now a four-time NBA champion.
