Lamar Odom has urged the Los Angeles Lakers to follow his advice to halt their alarming slide after yet another humbling defeat on Friday night.

As many would expect, LeBron James took center stage with 32 points scored, five rebounds and seven assists for the Purple and Gold against the Memphis Grizzlies.

But it still wasn’t enough to guide them towards victory as the Grizzlies edged the contest 127-113, which included a season-high 23 three-pointers.

It means the Lakers are currently on a four-game losing streak after their most recent defeats to Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks and New Orleans Pelicans.

It is widely believed that coach Darvin Ham is coming under pressure as he is being blamed for their issues, which have centred around not being able to protect their early lead. Others believe that LeBron has been left with too much responsibility, and the Lakers need to recruit more star names.

And former Lakers star Odom, a two-time NBA champion in 2009 and 2010, gave some insight into how they could turn around their form.

Quote-tweeting a video from the NBA official account showcasing the Grizzlies‘ impressive three-point shooting, Odom wrote on X: “There is only 1 way to fix the Lakers… RUN THE TRIANGLE!!!!”

Would Lamar Odom’s suggestion work?

The triangle offense is a strategy that primarily consists of three players forming a sideline triangle on one side of the court to create scoring opportunities.

While players will use various actions such as ball movement, basketball cuts and screens, it is mainly based on the reactions of the defense.

Also, the triangle offense can be implemented as a pattern for additional scoring possibilities near the basket or near the perimeter areas of the court.

While modern NBA teams no longer typically run the triangle offense as it has been replaced by more modern tactics, Odom may feel the Lakers need to go back to basics.

The triangle was heavily utilized by legendary coach Phil Jackson, who helped the Chicago Bulls and Lakers win multiple championships.

Odom was part of the championship-winning squad in LA that Jackson coached in 2009 and 2010.

But after several defeats by a sizeable margin, it may be time to change things up.
