As fate would have it, LeBron James has lifted in Las Vegas the only title he was missing as a professional.
Having won it all, 20 years after landing in the league, he got a unique award. He has been chosen as the first MVP in the history of the NBA Cup after beating the Indiana Pacers in the final (123-109).
The Los Angeles Lakers‘ tournament has been excellent. A 7-0 record that does justice to what was seen on the court.

The LA side took the new format very seriously from the start, showing their best version of themselves. Led, of course, by a LeBron who, on the verge of turning 39, is getting younger with the passage of time.

After beating Indiana and lifting the Cup, LeBron was named MVP of the tournament by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver.
The only two titles he had yet to lift will now be in his trophy cabinet. The finishing touch to a historic legacy, on a par with the greatest players in history and, of course, with the greatest sportsmen of all time.
His commitment to the In-Season Tournament, in the midst of the maelstrom of rest and load management (though less and less), is to be admired at 38 years of age.
He wanted the Cup. He wanted to achieve what no one else has achieved. To this day, he is the only player to win the NBA and the Cup and be MVP of both.
LeBron makes history in Las Vegas. Once again, he is back in the limelight. Two decades of success endorse him as one of the most influential players in history. Basketball once again pays tribute to the man who changed everything.
