The basketball world is in shock after LeBron James‘ son, Bronny, suffered a cardiac arrest while training with his university (USC – South California), according to journalist Shams Charania.

Bronny, 18, born in 2004, is out of danger and is not in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The youngster, who recently committed to USC’s programme and among the top players in his draft class, was completing a workout with the team when he suffered the mishap.

TMZ Sports reports that it was a 911 call at 9:26 a.m. this morning that alerted them to the incident. From the Galen Center, where the university trains, he was taken to hospital by ambulance.

“The medical team treated Bronny and took him to hospital. He is in stable condition and is not still in ICU. We ask for respect and privacy for the James family,” a family source told TMZ. “LeBron and Savannah would like to publicly thank the USC medical team for their treatment, and for their incredible work and dedication to the health care of their athletes,” he added.

Bronny is one of the NBA‘s top future prospects. In addition to his obvious family background, he showed great improvement in the last All-American for high school players. He scored 15 points with five three-pointers and his value in the next draft rose accordingly.

One of his father LeBron’s dreams is to play with Bronny in the league. “My last year will be playing with my son. I don’t care about the money, it’s something bigger,” explained one of the greatest players in basketball history on numerous occasions.

Such incidents, while shocking, have become more and more frequent in the last two years, although nobody seems to know why.
