Police have blocked off a busy road in Marsden.

West Yorkshire Police have cordoned off a large part of Manchester Road in Marsden today (Tuesday, March 9), near to the turning for Old Mount Road.

There are reports of a large police presence as drivers are being stopped from coming through. The details of the incident are currently unknown but our reporter Andrew Robinson is at the scene.

Early indications suggest it is a car accident involving at least car. It was seen with its hazard warning lights on and is at the top of Towngate, with junction Manchester road.

It is not yet clear how long the road will remain shut for this afternoon or if anyone has been injured at this time.
