Police are becoming “increasingly concerned” about a man who was last seen in York yesterday morning.

Eric Beadneall, 74 and from York, has been missing since the early hours of yesterday, and North Yorkshire Police have launched a search for him. They believe he may be in York city centre, but he has previously travelled by bus to Whitby.

He is described as white, five feet four inches tall, with greying brown hair, stubble and wears rectangular glasses. He also walks hunched over and shuffles and was last seen wearing a woollen hat, a brown jacket, jeans and black trainers.

North Yorkshire Police said: “We’re becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of 74-year-old Eric Beadneall.

“He has been missing since the early hours of yesterday and we believe he may be in York city centre, but has previously travelled by bus to the Whitby area. He is white, 5ft 4ins tall with brown hair that is greying, stubble and wears rectangular glasses.

“He walks hunched over and shuffles and was last seen wearing a woollen hat, brown jacket, jeans and black trainers.”
