A late own goal from Jakub Kiwior and a thunderbolt from Luis Diaz secured Liverpool’s safe passage in the FA Cup fourth round on Sunday.
Despite being penned back in their own half for large periods, Arsenal’s frugality in front of goal at the Emirates Stadium gifted the Reds a chance to win the game – and in the last ten minutes they took it.
The result means that Liverpool are still in with a shout of winning *whisper it* a quadruple this season.

Ibrahima Konate: 8/10
Tasked with leading the back four due to Virgil van Dijk’s absence, it’s fair to say that Ibrahima Konate flourished in the new leadership role.
Although helped massively by profligacy in the final third, Liverpool simply do not keep a clean sheet without Konate being at his very best on Sunday.
The French centre back led the defensive line brilliantly throughout by winning 100% of his duals, making two crucial blocks and winning possession back for his team on an impressive four occasions. A properly good centre-back performance.
Honourable mention
Trent Alexander-Arnold: 8/10
Liverpool don’t keep a clean sheet without Konate, and they don’t score at the other end of the park without Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Having hit the crossbar with a thumping effort late in a difficult first half for Liverpool, TAA really came to the fore in the second half. The England international was at the heart of everything good the Reds did – including setting up the opening goal with a stunning set piece delivery into the box.
Cody Gakpo: 2/10
Cody Gakpo has been utilised in various positions by Jurgen Klopp since he joined the club last January, and it’s fair to say that the manager will probably not be utilising him as a right winger any time soon again.
The Dutch international really struggled to make an impact on the game from said unfamiliar role, being afforded just 20 touches of the ball throughout his 59 minutes on the pitch.
Dishonourable mention
Alexis Mac Allister: 4/10
It’s perhaps a bit harsh to go too in on Mac Allister after his performance against Arsenal as, after all, he does look like a player who is slowly making his way back from an injury lay-off.
