Manchester United will take to the turf for the sixth time this pre-season when they face Borussia Dortmund in Las Vegas.

After a young squad was beaten by Wrexham before the older heads suffered a similar fate to Real Madrid, the Red Devils will now look to return to winning ways following earlier wins against Leeds, Lyon and Arsenal.

They’ll take on a Dortmund side that is unbeaten in pre-season so far and who recently signed Marcel Sabitzer – a loan arrival at Old Trafford earlier this year – from Bayern Munich.

Here’s the United side manager Erik ten Hag could deploy at the Allegiant Stadium.

GK: Andre Onana – The former Cameroon international made his first appearance for United since his move from Inter against Real Madrid and will only keep getting game time.

RB: Aaron Wan-Bissaka – The English right back heads into the 2023/24 season battling Diogo Dalot for a spot in Ten Hag’s team and did his chances no harm last term with some strong performances.

CB: Raphael Varane – Recently celebrated the two-year anniversary since joining United. The second season was firmly better than the first, when United came sixth and set a number of club lows in the Premier League.

CB: Lisandro Martinez – Pre-season or not, the Argentina international is still flying into challenges and looking for scraps.

LB: Luke Shaw – One of the most improved players in the Premier League after shaking off injuries and knocks that hampered his earlier career.

CM: Mason Mount – May feature in a deeper role alongside Casemiro in a similar role to that of Christian Eriksen last season. The impressive Kobbie Mainoo won’t feature due to injury.

CM: Casemiro – Squared off against some old Real teammates, drawing a longing quote from Carlo Ancelotti: “Casemiro? We love him very much. For us, he’s still a Real Madrid player. He’s a Real Madrid legend.”

RW: Antony – Will hope for his first goal of pre-season. Scored once during United’s successful Carabao Cup campaign last term.

AM: Bruno Fernandes – Man Utd’s newly installed club captain has struck all the right notes in his role so far this summer, though did pick up a booking against Real.

LW: Jadon Sancho – Set to take on his former side for the first time since leaving Dortmund in 2021. Touted for an exit this summer, it’s safe to say Sancho has struggled at United.

ST: Marcus Rashford – With Rasmus Hojlund on his way to Old Trafford, Rashford may not have to play centrally much more often.
