Kylian Mbappe has rejected a move to Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League.
A according to L’Equipe, emissaries of the Arab club were in Paris this week trying to convince the striker, but that hasn’t paid off.
The Frenchman explained to the club that he has no intention of leaving to play in Saudi Arabia for a year.
Al Hilal, as MARCA reported on Monday, had submitted a written offer to PSG of $330 million for Mbappe.
From there they asked for permission from the French club to talk to the player in hopes of convincing him to switch clubs.
Mbappe thus remains firm in his idea of finishing his contract with PSG despite his club’s attempts to sell him this summer and recoup part of the huge investment they made to keep him in Paris last May.
The decision by the striker is proof to many in Paris that Mbappe has an agreement to join Real Madrid in the summer of 2024, and to thus collect what he’s owed on remaining year of his contract and the signing bonus he’ll get from Los Blancos next summer.
As MARCA have previously reported, the decision to stay in Paris comes with a lot of risk for Kylian.
Luis Enrique may make him a peripheral figure, which isn’t ideal because the Euros are next summer.
He is the captain of France, and he also dreams of participating in the Paris Games.
Going to Saudi Arabia would allow him to play and then go to Real Madrid for free, which is what he wants.
However, it seems he isn’t convinced that is best for him.
Real Madrid is still waiting, and although several Premier League clubs have already called PSG, the player seems to have his sights firmly set on the Spanish side.
