Unfortunately we didn’t, so I’m very disappointed with our performance, just not playing at our level,” he acknowledged about the team’s performance this season at a press conference on Thursday.
In fact, McCarthy‘s management at the helm of the Cowboys has not been bad, considering that they have accumulated three consecutive seasons with at least 12 wins, and two divisional titles in a row.
Sadly for the team, in the playoffs the record is a disappointing 1-3, being the only team in history with these numbers not to reach the Conference championship and the first to lose to a 7 seed in the new playoff format, implemented in 2020.

Despite the adverse environment, he reiterated that he feels confident he can lead the team to break this painful drought of 28 seasons without being able to win a title.
