Newcastle have rejected Bayern Munich‘s £12.8million offer for Kieran Trippier, Mail Sport can reveal.

The Germans submitted their third proposal on Tuesday after a loan approach and what was described as a ‘low-ball’ permanent package were turned down over the weekend.

And Newcastle are standing firm in their stance that Trippier will be going nowhere this month.

Bayern have been given encouragement that the 33-year-old would be open to a move, if the Magpies were to accept an offer.

However, Trippier will not agitate to go and is very happy playing under Eddie Howe. The England star also has a strong relationship with the club’s owners, who are determined to keep him at St James’ Park, and has told them he will respect their wish for him to remain.

Newcastle United are standing firm after rejecting a third offer for Kieran Trippier by Bayern

Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel stated his intention to sign a right back earlier this month

Howe does not want to lose arguably his most important player amid an injury crisis and on the back of eight defeats in 10 matches.

He, too, is close to Trippier and it is likely that the club’s resolve and those good relationships will see the vice-captain stay beyond January.

Meanwhile, we understand Miguel Almiron would prefer to stay at Newcastle after an approach was made from Saudi club Al-Shebab, whose proposal was a permanent deal of around £17m. Sources say the move is ‘unlikely’ at this stage.
