Well, here it is. That eight-week stretch of the NRL season where that little thing called State of Origin throws more curveballs into the NRL than trying to explain existentialism to the players who’ll step onto Accor Stadium next Wednesday night. Please, imagine the furrowed brows.

Anyway, back to the moment at hand. Thanks to no Nicho Hynes or Cam McInnes due to Origin, and some head noise following last week’s horror show against Penrith, the Sharks are looking a bit shaky. It isn’t often the team at the top of the table could be described in such a manner.

Then we have the Eels. They’ve lost a stack of games – and a coach – already this year. But they do have two positives heading into this one. Mitchell Moses and Clint Gutherson are both back from injury.
