NRL round 3 LIVE: Bulldogs take the lead in Belmore after Preston try

Their first points were taken away, but this time the Bulldogs get the okay.

It’s Jacob Preston who get the first try of the day, off the back of some Gold Coast errors.

The short pass from Drew Hutchison was timed perfectly, and Preston shakes off Brian Kelly and Keano Kini to score.

The kick from Burton is good and Canterbury take the lead.

Bulldogs 6, Titans 0 after 19 minutes

Viliame Kikau is with the trainer in back play holding his arm.

Doesn’t look good for the edge back rower, who missed a massive chunk of last season with a pectoral injury, but the trainer straps him up, and he heads back onto the field.

Bulldogs 0, Titans 0 after nine minutes

Blake Wilson and the Bulldogs thought they had the first points on the board, but the lead runner in play headed straight to Kieran Foran, taking him out of play.

The crowd at Belmore erupted when Wilson went over, but safe to say they’re pretty deflated to learn the try will be taken away.

Good signs from Wilson on that right edge though, along with Drew Hutchison who orchestrated the play.

Talk about throwing away a try.

Tanah Boyd puts a kick in on the last play and a bounding AJ Brimson topples over the top of Blake Taaffe and catches the ball.

Brimson is charging for the try line, passes to Kieran Foran on his left and Foran knocks the ball on over the try line.

Taaffe is already struggling with the sun in his eyes – someone get him some sunnies.

Tanah Boyd gets the match going with the kick and Blake Wilson takes the first carry.

Almost a false start for Canterbury, with Wilson letting the ball bounce and go backwards before he scoops it up – the Titans were knocking.
