That’s tough to watch, Zac Hosking was out before he hit the ground there. Went in low on Cam McInnes and the late step from the Sharks lock clocked Hosking awkwardly.

Nothing illegal in it but he went down straight away. Worried about the neck and he’s got a bit of claret at the back of his head. Hosking’s able to walk off under his own steam but that is a Category 1 and the end of his day. Sharks on the attack but they cough up possession.

We’re back underway after the break. In the last 15 minutes of that first half Cronulla had 19 tackles inside Canberra’s 20-metre zone and 10 sets, completing eight of them.

The Raiders, just one set completed from four in the same period. Sharks with all the momentum.

Tit for tat with fumbles everywhere you look and tries in between. The Sharks swing left through Hynes and the youngster Kayal Iro. Ronaldo Mulitalo with plenty of work to do out wide but he shoves his way through the cover defence and burrows over. Hynes nails the touchline conversion too, hooking in off the post.

Somehow, the Sharks are in this game and despite Canberra absolutely dominating this contest so far.

One set later, we’re at level scores! Madness. Crossfield kick from Blayke Brailey and Xavier Savage is very casual in getting back to cover it. Sione Katoa nips in behind him to regather, Sharks loom in support and it’s Brailey swooping onto a loose ball.

There it is. Signs of life from the Sharks. Brayden Trindall gets over for Cronulla’s first. Takes on the Raiders edge defence, shows and goes to get the outside men interested. Zac Hosking too slow on the inside and Trindall sneaks past. Sharks needed that alright.

And another! Cronulla officially in crisis. Danny Levi from dummy-half. Will Kennedy went too quickly from marker and the dummy-half burrowed over.

Try confirmed after checking the grounding and it was a 40-20 from Fogarty that sparked that. The Sharks had their own a few moments earlier from a Jordan Rapana error but couldn’t do anything with it. All the Raiders right now. A successful Ronaldo Mulitalo captain’s challenge against a knock-on gives the home side a reprieve.

And Xavier Savage, he’s more than a handful now. He’s on the scoreboard. Savage has the Sharks in all sorts from a scrum 10 metres out. Nicho Hynes held back as Savage jinked and stepped, Jesse Ramien swung him around and Savage ended up slingshotting his way over the line. His third try in four games. Fogarty converts and the Raiders are up 12-0.

Canberra hang onto the ball and score! In fact they do more than hang onto it, they pull a little bit of magic. They run on the last after half a break by Xavier Savage through the middle.

Quick hands after Jamal Fogarty feigned a kick, Matthew Timoko made that play with a rapid tip-on and James Schiller goes over in the corner. All that field position and possession turns into points.

Fogarty curls the conversion back through the sticks from the sideline. Great kick.

A bomb is spilled by Will Kennedy under pressure from James Schiller. Canberra are on the march early but Hudson Young spills possession before they fire a shot.

Another error gives the Raiders another crack soon enough. Followed by a six-again. And then a fumble from Fogarty. Sloppy start by both sides. Cameron McInnes keeps the theme going by losing control in the ruck. Answered in kind by Morgan Smithies. Finally the Sharks get to their kick – I think that’s their second – in 10 minutes.

Cronulla kick us off in front of a sold-out crowd. Canberra with the advantage up front given the injuries to Dale Finucane, Royce Hunt and Toby Rudolf. Solid defensive set to start for the Sharks before Jamal Fogarty kicks long without too much pressure on him.

Oregon Kaufusi in trouble with one of his first carries of the game. He’s only just getting to his feet and trying to carry on as Canberra get a penalty coming out of trouble. They can’t lose any more in their front-row rotation.
