Orenthal James Simpson is arguably one of the most infamous Americans in human history, he passed away on Thursday April 10 at the age of 76 in Las Vegas. The announcement took place early in the morning as the entire world who knows his name reacted to the news. Simpson had recently announced he was battling cancer and passed away surrounded by his family. Despite being considered one of the greatest NFL players in the ’80s, Simpson’s life took a turn that made him a figure of a cullturally diverse America. The ‘Juice‘ was a running back who played in the NFL between 1969 and 1982. He played for the Buffalo Bills and the San Francisco 49ers.

How did O.J. Simpson die?
According to his family, O.J. Simpson lost a battle against prostate cancer, a disease he announced earlier in 2024 that he was struggling to beat. He was undergoing chemotherapy but he wasn’t able to withstand the health problems. When he passed away on Wednesday night, Simpson’s family was trying to give him the company he wanted before moving on to the afterlife. According to TMZ, Simpson’s attorney also confirmed the news separately. The battle against prostate cancer had been happening for years but he only recently announced it through his social media outlets. Over the past few months, O.J. Simpson was in hospice care.
O.J. Simpson is infamous for being accused of the double murder of ex wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ron Goldman. He famously was acquitted in what becme known as ‘The Trial of the Century’. As an African-American celebrity, Simpson hired himself one of the most competent legal teams in the country at the time and walked free for a crime many are convinced he comitted. Here’s a statement from his family that was released through Simpson’s social media ccounts: “On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace.”
