Reuben Owen candidly discussed his split from co-star Sarah Dow during his appearance on Thursday’s Lorraine.
The Our Yorkshire Farm personality has been busy with his new venture in the Channel 5 series Life in the Dales, where he features alongside his now ex-girlfriend Sarah and their mutual friend Tommy. The show’s audience had become fond of Sarah and intrigued by her relationship with Reuben; however, he confirmed to host Lorraine Kelly that they have parted ways.
Lorraine probed into Reuben’s personal life while talking about Life in the Dales, asking, “We see you working on the farm with your friends, Tommy and Sarah. Now, Sarah and you were together what’s happened between the two of you?” To which Reuben responded: “Me and Sarah are no longer together but we’re still very good friends.”

He elaborated, “She’s doing her own thing, pursuing her own career. She does the odd day for us when she’s not busy. We’re not together anymore but we still get on well and still good pals.” Reuben also touched upon his dynamic with his parents Amanda and Clive, noting that their relationship remains unchanged despite his parents’ separation last year, reports the Mirror.
Lorraine elaborated, “It’s the same as your mum and dad really, they may not be together but they’re still giving you lots of advice and encouragement.” Surrounded by supportive family, Reuben concurred, stating, “You couldn’t wish for any better parents, the whole family is very supportive of us.
Dad and mum both come down here and give us a hand with the machines, they always give give us advice and try to keep us on the straight and narrow.” Reuben and Sarah’s love story started blooming in December 2021 after being friends for several years. The romantic journey began through their mutual friend Tommy.

Reflecting back on her first meeting with Reuben at Yorkshire Farm spin-off Beyond The Yorkshire Farm, Sarah recalls: “I met Reuben through Tommy, actually. We just got on really well and he taught me some stuff.”
Drawing inspiration from the farmwork, Reuben confessed his plans, “I’m going to do an engineering course at college and I feel like I could adapt some of this towards that because I kind of know a bit about the machines now.”
Reminiscing his initial days with Sarah, Reuben admitted he was initially “terrified” of her as impressing girls didn’t come naturally to him. The young lovers have been pretty open about their relationship on social media. In 2022, Reuben celebrated their year-long relationship by sharing a heartfelt post featuring a picture of the couple: “Cheers @sarah11dow for not sacking me off yet. Been a full year.”
Sarah, too, marked their anniversary by sharing an adorable mirror selfie with Reuben, captioning it “1 year,” along with a heart hands emoji. In the upcoming episode of Reuben: Life in the Dales, which broadcasts on Thursdays, audiences will witness Reuben, his then-partner Sarah, and their mate Tommy, embarking on a journey to France.
