Guard Chandler Zavala is alert and has movement in all his extremities, as reported by the Carolina Panthers on their official website. Zavala was taken to a hospital in Detroit, Michigan, after an apparent neck injury he suffered in the game against the Lions.
The rookie was left lying on the field after a collision with an opponent. The Panthers’ medical team rushed to the field to check the player, who was later removed in the injury cart.
The entire stadium breathed a sigh of relief when Zavala gave a thumbs-up as he was taken to the infirmary. Even so, players from both teams gathered in the center of the field to offer a prayer for the guard.

The North Carolina State graduate was taken to a local hospital to be evaluated.
The nature of the rookie’s injury is still unknown, but the Panthers will post constant updates on their website and social media.
The game continued after a pause of around seven minutes to attend to Zavala.
Zavala’s history
The Panthers picked Zavala in the fourth round of the 2023 Draft, 114th overall.
The left guard played his first two seasons as a college student at Fairmont State before arriving at NC State. In 2022, he was named First Team All-ACC and was recognized as the league’s best guard by PFF.
In 2021, he played only five games due to injury. The Wolfpack was able to limit its opponents to 172 rushing yards in the games in which Zavala participated.
