Tough shot for DJ….

Dustin Johnson is not one of the players off to a good start at Valhalla. He had to take two shots among the trees on No 15.

Strong start for Schauffele continues

Xander Schauffele holds the lead by himself as the first to reach -4. Four birdies for Schauffele has him looking strong at Valhalla.

If you see a delay at 14, here’s why!

Ghim gets back to -3

In his first PGA Championship appearance, Doug Ghim has started strong and joins the leaders at -3.

Rory McIlroy stays one shot off the leaders after remaining at -2 with a par on his fifth hole of the day at No 14.

Schauffele and Spieth rise up the leaderboard

Xander Schauffele and Jordan Spieth have risen up the leaderboard to join Viktor Hovland at -3 for the lead at Valhalla.

Tiger birdies on No 13

Rory stays at -1 after three holes

Rory’s long birdie putt on No 12 fell just short, keeping the Northern Irishman at -1.

Schauffele and Ghim hold the lead at -2

Xander Schauffele and Doug Ghim hold an early lead at Valhalla at -2. Ghim has completed six holes of his first round, while Schauffele just finished his fourth.

Great putt from Tiger!

Through three holes, Woods stays at +1. However, his putt to save par on No 12 must have felt like a birdie, sinking it from about 20 feet.

Rory stayed at 1-under after his second hole of the day with a par on No 11.

Ghim bogeys, putting Rory in a tie for the lead

Although it is incredibly early at Valhalla, Rory McIlroy’s birdie on his first hole currently has him in a tie for the lead at -1 with several others.

Long lines to get in to see Rory and Tiger

As Rory McIlroy approaches the green on hole No 10 amid his recently filed divorce, he is forced to keep his eyes on the PGA Championship

Tiger misses birdie on first hole…

BREAKING NEWS: Play delayed

This just in from PGA Championship officials:

So that’s Michael Block, Luke Donald and Shaun Micheel now heading out at 7:25am local time.

Rory McIlroy latest

Before the golf gets underway, it would be remiss of us to not mention the story that has dominated the headlines leading into this tournament: Rory McIlroy’s divorce from his wife Erica Stoll.

Although the media were warned about questioning McIlroy on the subject, it’s fair to say it was a huge shock – with the news dropping just three days out from the start of play this morning.

McIlroy filed the divorce papers in Florida on Monday, and has been putting on a brave face

So who’s out first?

There’s British and American interest in the first group out at Valhalla this morning, with England’s Luke Donald heading out alongside Michael Block (remember him?) and Shaun Micheel.

Block will have very, very fond memories of this tournament, having shot to fame last year with his 15th-placed finish.
