Following a busy midweek for some of England’s top sides in the Carabao Cup, the Premier League returns to our TV screens this weekend.
With no Friday night action, the weekend opener comes on Saturday lunchtime as Manchester United look to bounce back from successive 3-0 defeats when they face Fulham. There are six other games on Saturday, including a mouth-watering clash between Newcastle United and Arsenal in the late kick-off.
Three games across Sunday and Monday include Liverpool’s first Premier League trip to Kenilworth Road to face Luton Town, as well as a London derby between Tottenham and Chelsea in Mauricio Pochettino’s first return to Spurs.

Looking to put a stop to their losing streak, Man Utd get the weekend underway with a far from straightforward trip to Fulham. The pressure is mounting on Erik ten Hag and he could do with three points to appease supporters in Saturday’s early kick-off at Craven Cottage.
In one of five 15:00 (GMT) kick-offs, Brentford play host to West Ham United. Thomas Frank’s side have put a shaky run of form behind them with back-to-back victories and clean sheets, beating Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last time out. Meanwhile, the Hammers brought a three-game winless run to an end midweek, beating Arsenal in a commanding 3-1 victory in the Carabao Cup.
Burnley will be hopeful of escaping the relegation zone this weekend when they host struggling Crystal Palace at Turf Moor. The Clarets have lost four on the trot, but Palace are also without a win in three matches after successive defeats to Newcastle and most recently Spurs.
Everton‘s upturn in form will be put to the test this weekend with the visit of Brighton. The Toffees have climbed up the table with three wins in their last five league games, but Roberto De Zerbi’s men will prove a sterner test. Everton did enjoy a breathtaking 5-1 win over the Seagulls last season at the Amex, but their form has been patchier at Goodison Park than on the road in recent times.
One of the weekend’s more predictable fixtures comes at the Etihad this Saturday. Man City, fresh from a straightforward 3-0 win in the Manchester derby at Old Trafford last weekend, play host to Bournemouth. The Cherries got their first league win of the season last weekend, but Andoni Iraola will need divine intervention to get anything from their trip up north.

Bournemouth’s victory over Burnley last time out means that Sheffield United are now the only side in the division waiting for a win. The Blades are rock bottom of the table, but will see Saturday’s clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers as a good opportunity to add to their points tally. Gary O’Neil’s visitors are in good form, however, they will be missing the influential Pedro Neto for their trip to Bramall Lane.
Saturday’s late game is one of the most exciting of the weekend, Arsenal travelling to Newcastle with the intention of putting their midweek defeat behind them. The Magpies enjoyed a much more fruitful evening on Wednesday, beating Man Utd 3-0 at Old Trafford to end a two-game winless run. The Gunners know that any slip-up at St James’ Park could be pounced upon by Man City, Liverpool and north London rivals Spurs.
Sunday gets underway with a Midlands clash between Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa at the City ground. Steve Cooper’s side find themselves in a little bit of trouble after failing to win any of their last six matches, albeit they have accumulated four draws in that period. However, Villa’s form is the polar opposite, with Unai Emery’s men having won five of their last six in all competitions.
Liverpool have won all four of their matches since the international break, making it to the quarter-final of the Carabao Cup midweek with a win over Bournemouth. However, it will be a first Premier League visit to Kenilworth Road to face Luton Town this Sunday, with the Hatters hopeful of a memorable and remarkable scalp.
A blockbuster finish to Gameweek 11 comes on Monday evening, with table-toppers Tottenham welcome Pochettino back to north London. The Argentine will bring his Chelsea side across the capital hoping his Blues can inflict a first league defeat of the season on his old club.
