Raheem Sterling will snub a big-money move to Saudi Arabia and fight for his Chelsea career.

The 29-year-old was booed by Chelsea fans on three separate occasions during their 4-2 FA Cup quarter-final victory over Leicester on Sunday.

It was a day to forget for the winger, who missed a host of chances and issued a public apology to fans on social media, after missing a penalty during the game.

Blues fans have been critical of Sterling since his £50m move from Manchester City in 2022, and there has recently been speculation that clubs in the Saudi Pro League could be willing to offer him a lucrative move.

Sterling is determined to make a success of his time at Chelsea and turn down the chance to move to Saudi Arabia.

Sterling, who has lost his place in the England squad, still has two-and-a-half years left on his £300,000-per-week contract at Stamford Bridge.

In a message to Chelsea fans after their win over Leicester, Sterling posted on Instagram: ‘Apologies for the penalty miss. I’ll be back 10 times stronger to help the team win and continue to fight for the badge every single day.’

Chelsea players rallied around Sterling in response to his post, with messages of support from the likes of Cole Palmer, Ben Chilwell and Reece James.

Noni Madueke fired back at one fan after he originally told Sterling there was ‘no need to apologise’.

The fan wrote back to the former PSV Eindhoven player telling him that an apology was needed from Sterling.

Madueke hit back, writing: ‘Be quiet man, people like you are the issue.’

After a disappointing first season at Stamford Bridge, Sterling’s performances had appeared to improve during the first-half of this campaign.

However, he has scored just one Premier League goal since the beginning of December, and Chelsea fans have expressed their frustrations with him.

Against Leicester, his issues started with a poor penalty after he took the ball off Cole Palmer to take the spot-kick.

He then fired wide when one-on-one with the goalkeeper, before he was later booed after he skied a free-kick into the grandstands – again taking the set-piece ahead of Palmer.

Sterling was jeered again when Mauricio Pochettino opted to bring off Mykhailo Mudryk instead of the England international.

He was eventually replaced by Madueke after 86 minutes, and was booed off the pitch for the third time by his own fans.
