Early on Thursday, Las Vegas Raiders‘ star Chandler Jones was arrested in the city during the early hours of the day. Currently, the 33-year-old All-Pro has been booked into Clark County Detention Center in the state of Nevada. A place where he remains behind bars since midnight. As of right now, there are currently no exact details to why he was arrested or the nature of his detention. However, there had been some clues over the last few days that Chandler Jons was not okay. In an Instagram live stream published by Jones himself, there was a moment in which he broke down while talking about the late Aaron Hernandez. He claims the former Patriots star who died in prison did not commit suicide and started crying right after.
Chandler Jones’ struggles with mental health
Over the last few weeks, Chandler Jones had been struggling with severe mental health issues that may or may not be happening due to a case of CTE. Multiple NFL players have fallen in this terrible condition due to the constant traume to their heads in both official games and training session. This is just the latest example of another NFL star who suffers from mental health issues and displays extremely concerning erratic behavior. Jones’ famly is extremely concerned over his well-being, including his two athlete brothers. Chandler has former NFL defensive tackle Arthur Jones and UFC Heavyweight champion Jon Jones as his brothers.
Las Vegas Raiders release statement after Chandler Jones’ arrest
Without offering much explanation about his arrest, Las Vegas Raiders released a statement that confirms they are aware of Chandler Jones’ situation. They write the following update on their official website and multiple social media accounts: “The Raiders are hopeful that Chandler Jones receives the care that he needs. He, his family, and all those involved are in our thoughts. As this is now a legal matter, we will not be providing further comment.” The first outlet to release information about this arrest were the folks from TMZ.
