The Las Vegas Raiders have lost 14 of their 21 regular season games since acquiring superstar wide receiver Davante Adams in a trade with the Green Bay Packers last year — and Adams is growing impatient with how far away the franchise is from playoff contention, let alone making it to a Super Bowl.
However, there appears to be little to no appetite for a rebuild in Las Vegas, and Adams — while disgruntled — is not in a position to demand a trade. According to one NFL insider, the two sides will continue together in hopes of a turnaround.
Adams in the midst of another stellar season
ESPN‘s Jeremy Fowler reports that Adams may be frustrated with the Raiders‘ present struggles, which were magnified during a 24-17 loss to their bitter rivals, the Los Angeles Chargers, in Week 4. But the three-time All-Pro is in the second season of a long-term contract, and he is enjoying playing with rookie quarterback Aidan O’Connell, who got the start against the Chargers on Sunday.
Adams is on pace for another season of at least 1,500 yards receiving, and his 13-touchdown pace is only one off the figure (14) he registered in 2022, while partnered with Derek Carr. An asset like Adams — who, at 30 years old, is still squarely in his prime — doesn’t come around all that often, and if the Raiders were to trade him, they would demand a significant haul in return.

The Carolina Panthers are reportedly on the prowl for a star wide receiver to pair with rookie quarterback Bryce Young. Adams, standing out for a losing team in Las Vegas, would fit the bill — but the cost to acquire him would be steep, and the former Packer may not want to play for another rebuilding team.
For now, Adams remains in Vegas — where his current team will host his former team in a “Monday Night Football” game to close Week 5. The Raiders are in desperate need of a win to turn around their season, as falling to 1-4 would likely prompt more discontent and awkwardness.
