The event organisers, The Great Run Company, expressed their ‘heartfelt condolences to the man’s family and friends’. At this time, no additional information about the man has been disclosed.

Sunday’s AJ Bell Great Manchester Run saw tens of thousands of participants, including one of Europe’s largest 10km races, a half marathon, and a wheelchair event. The streets were filled with spectators cheering on the runners.

Several well-known personalities also participated in the race, such as TV celebrities Daniel Jillings, Danny Miller, and Elle Mulvaney, along with mayor Andy Burnham and council leader Bev Craig. The race took place prior to the Manchester City victory parade in the city centre, reports the Manchester Evening News.
