Ryan Garcia‘s win over Devin Haney is still fresh, especially given the circumstances surrounding the victory, but it’s never too early to start thinking about a possible next opponent for the 25-year-old after such an important triumph.

Ryan Garcia admits he fought Devin Haney on drugs, but not steroids

Generally in boxing, there’s a ton of speculation and rumors before two fighters get matched up. But Garcia has given all the insiders a break and taken matters into his own hands.

Ryan Garcia and Errol Spence Jr up next?

On Wednesday, Garcia got into a verbal spat on social media with Errol Spence Jr., and he’s already drawing up plans for the date and venue.

Garcia also says that he’s already notified Golden Boy Boxing promoter Oscar De La Hoya that this is the fight he wants. Surprisingly, Garcia mentioned 160 pounds being the weight he’d accept fighting at.

Garcia’s fight against Haney was at 140 pounds, although Garcia weighed in three pounds heavier than allowed. It’s clear he has the frame to put on muscle, but 160 is a big step.

Spence appeared to give the option of fighting at 154, which would make more sense for Garcia. It makes more sense for Spence too, considering he has always been a welterweight in professional bouts.
