Ryan Garcia has offered a lifeline to Devin Haneyby suggesting a rematch between the pair, although Eddie Hearn could potentially wreck their chances of a second bout,
Garcia ended Haney‘s 31-fight undefeated run by a 12-round majority decision after they fought on April 20 in Brooklyn, New York.

But the 25-year-old’s victory has since been shrouded by the emergence of a subsequent positive drugs test for Ostarine – a banned substance. Garcia is waiting on the results of a B sample supplied to discover if he will be banned, with the results due to be announced on May 22.
In the meantime, Garcia posted on social media on Saturday offering his conquered foe a chance to salvage some pride and avenge his defeat with a rematch. Of course, such an offer comes with the risk of a possible double humiliation if he were to accept.
“Devin, f*** it let’s run it again. If you feel you were cheated, we can run it again,” Garcia wrote on X. “I’ll only eat oysters for the training camp, and I won’t sleep.”

The downside is another loss would surely send Haney into early retirement, but he would earn a big payday from what would be a highly-anticipated fight between two of boxing’s most talented lightweight boxers.
Bill Haney, Devin‘s father, may be tempted by the prospect of a second fight as he and his son have ambitions on living in the Hamptons in New York in the future. The proceeds from a second fight would surely allow him to earn another big payday.
However, it is clear that nothing will be decided until after the results of Garcia‘s B-sample return – and Bill‘s comments about Garcia may cast some doubt on a rematch happening.
“I’m definitely not on that Ryan Garcia pack because I heard it’s laced with PEDs. I’ll see you on May 22,” Haney said on the Therealone YouTube channel.
If that test proves to be positive, like Ryan‘s other tests for the banned substance Ostarine, it could result in a lengthy suspension for Garcia and some redemption for Haney if the result is overturned too.
