He was one of the biggest names in the transfer market… and his destination is looking more and more likely to be Saudi Arabia. Sergio Ramos is contemplating the possibility of playing for Al Ittihad where he would once again share a team with Karim Benzema.
The 37-year-old center-back from Seville was without a team after ending his contract with Paris Saint-Germain on June 30, and despite having received numerous proposals, his course seems to be directed to Jeddah, although he still has some offers on the table from European teams.
Besiktas and, above all, Galatasaray in the last hours, were some of the suitors that the former Real Madrid player had.
Ramos, who has also expressed his desire to return to Sevilla with the team’s needs in the center of the backline due to injuries, could still join a Saudi club with their transfer window open until September 7.
Another big name
Al Ittihad, reigning champions of the Saudi Arabian League, have added the aforementioned Benzema to their ranks, as well as N’Golo Kante, Fabinho and Jota.
Led by Portuguese coach Nuno Espirito Santo, Al Ittihad has started the new season with four wins and one defeat.
