The Philadelphia Eagles recorded a 28-23 victory over the Dallas Cowboys, but well-known American sports journalist Skip Bayless insisted after the game that the losing team is still superior.

The Cowboys have had a mixed start to the new NFL season, and the recent defeat was a reflection of their inconsistent and unpredictable nature in the early stages of the campaign.

“We are better than the Eagles,” Skip Bayless wrote on social media.

But beyond the text, the tweet was accompanied by a video where he expanded on his theory, claiming the Eagles won by pure luck.

“The Eagles know it, today was just the Eagles’ day. Three fumbles, they were so lucky to recover.

“Three huge calls the refs choked on, crumbled on the pressure from the Eagles crowd.

“Today was just the Eagles’ day, but it will not be the Eagles’ year, trust me.”

Prescott receives praise

While Dak Prescott has often been criticised of late, he was praised after this recent defeat. Coach Jason Garrett said to NBC after the game: “That quarterback in Dallas, Dak Prescott, put the entire team on his shoulders throughout this ballgame. Time and time again in the big moments, he was the guy making plays. Unbelievable job. A classic in the NFC East.”

Similarly, Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons said: “Dak is a freaking warrior. That’s Dak motherf—ing Prescott, bro. He’s a dog. He’s a warrior. I have an unbelievable amount of confidence in him. I felt he had a great game. People need to put more respect on him. He outplayed everyone today.”
