Many were left feeling a little awkward after watching Stacey Solomon’s BBC TV show ‘Sort Your Life Out’. The latest episode sparked a lively discussion over how the show handled one couple’s “emotional baggage”. As one of the presenters, Stacey Solomon spoke up to say that it was “one of her favourites” despite debate among viewers.

The idea behind the programme is to help UK homeowners get rid of clutter in their homes and sort out what to keep and what to throw away. Single mum Rachel discovered a proposal speech made by her ex-husband Darren while they were cleaning out her house, which left some viewers uncomfortable.

Aside from this, she also sadly recalled the end of their marriage and Darren’s new partner. One viewer found this part as being “intrusive”. Adding to the tension, Darren later comes on the screen and helps the team clean up with his daughters Amelia, 15, and Madeline, 11. Many people on social media chatted about how “awkward” the situation was and wondered how host Stacey might be taking it all in, reports the Mirror.

Fans reacted to the episode on Twitter, with one writing: “Oh I’m glad I’m not Stacey, this must be awkward. #sortyourlifeout,” Another added: “Both parties more than willing to appear on tv show due to their marriage breakup? How is this even a thing? #sortyourlifeout Bloody hell.”

And a third declared: “Too much emotional baggage in this episode. Too intrusive. Not our place to be party to this. #SortYourLifeOut.” Rachel first brought up her divorce when Stacey commented on the clutter in her garage, which she said Darren had promised to turn into a dance studio for the kids. However, Darren left and his plans didn’t happen.

“We’d been married 10 or 11 years and I could tell that something was not quite right,” Rachel explained. “So I confronted him and he said, ‘I don’t love you anymore’ and weeks later was in a relationship with somebody. But they are still together and they’re getting married this year so it’s all worked out for the best.”

Rachel later got a bit teary as she sorted through items from her wedding day, admitting: “It’s just hard. It’s not that I want him back anymore. It just makes me sad that it was wasted in a way.” Stacey was on hand to comfort Rachel, telling her fellow mum how well she was doing post break up. Stacey Solomon thanked her followers for their kind messages about ‘Sort Your Life Out’ on her Instagram Stories.

She said: “Hi. I just wanted to say thank you for all your lovely messages about Sort Your Life Out – it’s one of my favourite ones tonight. I did try and get Joe to apply for his cupboards – right now, I do feel I should apply for myself! But, I’m going to put a link on as loads of you have asked how to apply, so I will put a link on. But thanks for all the lovely messages.”
