A large amount of waste including raw meat has been dumped at a remote beauty spot near Holmfirth.
The extent of the fly-tipping in a lay-by on the A635, known locally as the Isle of Skye Road, has been condemned by concerned residents who have reported it to Kirklees Council. The location is just inside the Kirklees border. The lay-by has been used as a fly-tipping spot before, with tyres among the items left there.
A man who took photographs of the dumped waste shared the images with YorkshireLive and said there was a large amount of rotting animal by-products which he said was intended as raw food for dogs. He took the photos around noon on Tuesday, March 19.

He said it was “rotting, smelly, and already being scavenged by wildlife.”
The pile of tipped waste also included bin bags containing the remains of cannabis production, he added. The fly-tipping has been reported to Kirklees Council.
Dog owners who use the lay-by are being urged to be wary. The complaint about the A635 fly-tipping follows complaints about waste being dumped in Dalton Bank Road at Dalton, which is currently closed due to a landslip.
Concerned resident David Hammett has called the road one of the dirtiest in Kirklees and says the road closure is a good opportunity for a clean-up operation.
However, Kirklees says it does not have responsibility for the land around Dalton Bank Road.
