A week is a long time in football.

In the wake of a 67-point mauling by the Bulldogs, Justin Longmuir accused his side of
getting selfish, going away from the game-plan and were too focussed on “stat stuffing”,
rather than team defence.

Eight days on and the chance to respond presented itself in the shape of Gold Coast.

Yes, the Suns were yet to be victorious from five away games, but with a midfield of Jarrod
Witts, Matt Rowell, Noah Anderson and Touk Miller, this wasn’t expected to be a walk in the
park.

Their first-choice midfield of Hayden Young, Andrew Brayshaw and Caleb Serong were the
difference.

The trio all highly impactful, finishing among the side’s best in a win which has them just two
points outside the top four.

They lead them to a clearance advantage (44-32) from both the centre (13-9) and stoppage
(31-23), resulting in a positive inside 50 count (55-46).

But what was most impressive about the trio which has largely been missing throughout the
year, was their ability to hit the scoreboard.
