Behind every great FPL manager is a great fixture ticker, where looking ahead to the opening six gameweeks is the key to success. The Fantasy Football Hub fixture analyser can be fully customised for any gameweek range, giving custom ratings for both attack and defence, bearing in mind either opponent difficulty or predicted results.

Chelsea top the fixture ticker over the opening six gameweeks, with Brighton and Arsenal not far behind them. The number of top half teams in the top half of this fixture ticker means that fantasy managers have a wealth of options at their disposal with plum fixtures from the start and they will be looking to double or triple up in some cases.

The Blues’ schedule is particularly kind after they’ve faced Liverpool in Gameweek 1, but they are the side who perhaps hold the biggest unknown this season – there’s been plenty of personnel changes and Mauricio Pochettino is in as manager. Full-backs Ben Chilwell (£5.5m) and Reece James (£5.5m) will be popular options, especially if they can stay fit and keep an eye on new forwards Christopher Nkunku (£7.5m) (after he’s recovered from injury) and Nicolas Jackson (£7.0m).

Tripling up on Brighton assets should be easy but since they’ve strengthened in the transfer window in preparation for regular midweek European action, fantasy managers are now fearing rotation. That shouldn’t be an issue for attacking full-back Pervis Estupinan (£5.0m) who is now in more than half of registered teams. Kaoru Mitoma (£6.5m) is another popular pick for the Seagulls but the more consistent Solly March (£6.5m) may be a wiser pick.

Plenty of managers will stack up on Arsenal players for their promising opening fixtures, with goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale (£5.0m) and midfielder Bukayo Saka (£8.5m) both currently in the template team. Don’t rule out defender Gabriel (£5.0m) either, who scored three goals last season, and Martin Odegaard (£8.5m), who scored the most fantasy points of the Arsenal squad last season.

When it comes to filtering by defence, it’s Brighton who come out on top with Chelsea in second and Manchester City in third. John Stones (£5.5m) as a potential out of position prospect could perform well in the opening weeks of the season.

For attack Brentford infiltrate the top three behind Arsenal but ahead of Chelsea, and that brings Bryan Mbeumo (£6.5m) and Yoane Wissa (£6.5m) into the conversation. Both are likely to benefit from the absence of Ivan Toney, for both minutes and penalty responsibility.

For managers looking at some early punts to start the season with, Manchester United’s opening three gameweeks can’t be discounted, with home games against Wolves and Nottingham Forest. Marcus Rashford (£9.0m), Bruno Fernandes (£8.5m) and Luke Shaw (£5.5m) are among the most viable short-term picks to take advantage of those fixtures.
