A city-wide crackdown on drug dealing networks in Doncaster has resulted in two men and a woman from two major drug lines being jailed for a combined total of over nine years.

An ongoing intensive operation spanning almost two years has seen detectives and officers target Doncaster’s drug dealers and its web of county lines, with dozens jailed for their part in supplying drugs in the city.

On Friday (March 22), two more Doncaster men found themselves before Sheffield Crown Court for sentencing after admitting drug offences. Evidence gathered meticulously as part of the operation into the city’s drug dealers showed that 28-year-old Brett Riley, was managing a major drugs line with Ashley Fox, 44, directed by Riley to carry out the transactions.

After Riley’s phone was seized, analysis of the device revealed his part in running the drugs line, with Fox’s mobile also showing conversations which linked him to the supply of harmful Class A drugs .

Detective Chief Inspector Tony Slater said: “A huge amount of diligent evidence gathering and analysis was needed in order to prove that Riley was managing the drugs line with Fox working as his dealer on the streets. We know that the supply of drugs funds organised crime groups who terrorise our local communities and that is why this operation has been launched.

“Our message is simple – we won’t tolerate the supply of drugs on our streets and we want dealers to know that we are onto them.”

The same operation caught Jane Kirkpatrick in the act as she supplied Class A drugs on three occasions. The 46-year-old, of Albany Road, Balby, was in control of a separate major drugs line in the city with Kirkpatrick responsible for taking calls and arranging locations for transactions to take place.

Riley, of Alder Grove, Balby , pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine, with Fox, of HMP Doncaster, admitting supplying heroin and crack cocaine.

Both appeared in court for sentencing last Friday , with Riley jailed for four-and-a-half years and Fox jailed for two years and eight months. Kirkpatrick was jailed for two years and four months on Tuesday (March 26) after admitting three counts of supplying crack cocaine.

DCI Slater said: “This is only the start for this operation. So much work has gone into it behind the scenes by a whole team of people spanning different departments and organisations and we have already seen the impact it is having on drug dealing lines in Doncaster.

“I hope this case and the operation we have undertaken as a whole shows just how seriously we take crimes of this nature and I want people to be reassured that if you have concerns about drugs in your area, we will respond and we will investigate to protect you and your communities.”

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police added: “If you are worried about drug-related crime in your area, or if you think someone may be a victim of drug exploitation, please call us on 101 or 999 in an emergency. You can also report information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or by visiting the Crimestoppers website.”
