NFL legend Tom Brady has been accused of participating in a scam with Sam Bankman-Fried, that saw the former-quarterback allegedly earn 55 million dollars for 20 hours of work.
Also involved in the storm is the NBA’s Steph Curry. The two star athletes are accused of participating in sportswashing, which is the use of sports teams and athletes to divert attention from shady, or even criminal, activities.

Sam Bankman-Fried is currently facing trial in New York to determine whether he is guilty of fraud and money laundering connected to the collapse of his exchange, which was worth billions.
According to author Michael Lewis, who has written a book about FTX, Brady is alleged to have been paid to promote the company along with his ex-wife, Gisele Bundchen, as the pair convinced people to invest.
“He paid Tom Brady 55m dollars for 20 hours a year for three years,” Lewis said.
“He paid Steph Curry 35m dollars for the same thing for three years.”
Fans attack Tom Brady
Fans have taken to social networks to slam the seven-time Super Bowl champion, accusing him of being a scammer and calling for a federal investigation into the 46-year-old.
“When will the feds go after Brady?” one person wrote.
“Tom Brady is a scammer,” added another.
Who is Michael Lewis?
The man making the allegations is Michael Lewis, an American author and financial journalist.
Lewis is known for his coverage of financial crises and behavioural finance. He attended Princeton University, graduating in art history before studying at the London School of Economics in the UK.
Some of his books, including ‘The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game’, ‘Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game’ and ‘The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine’, went on to become motion pictures.
