Travis Kelce, the star tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, has signed a contract extension with the team, making him the highest-paid tight end in the NFL. Kelce expressed his excitement about the deal in a video posted on the Chiefs’ social media, where he donned the team’s jersey and cap, exclaiming, “Back out at the game, baby!”

Kelce, who has been with the Chiefs for 12 years since being drafted in the third round of the 2012 Draft, described it as an honor and a pleasure to continue playing for Kansas City. “I can’t wait to get after this next two years, but no better than right now,” said the player.

The former Cincinnati Bearcat expressed his eagerness to start the upcoming season and hit the field with his teammates, saying he just wanted “get on the field with the boys, baby.”

Kelce is now the highest-paid TE in the NFL

The contract extension comes after years of Kelce being underpaid compared to other top tight ends in the league. Despite his instrumental role in the Chiefs’Super Bowl success, Kelce had not been compensated accordingly.

However, the new deal reflects the high value that the Chiefs and head coach Andy Reid place on Kelce’s contributions to the team.

While the exact financial details of the extension were not disclosed, it is expected that Kelce will receive a substantial raise, solidifying his position as one of the highest-paid players in the league.

The Chiefs are looking to be a dynasty

Kelce’s extension is part of a larger trend for the Chiefs, who have recently signed other core members of the team to contract extensions, including star defensive tackle Chris Jones and head coach Andy Reid.

With his contract extension secured, Kelce can now focus on helping the Chiefs build on their recent success and continue to compete for championships in the upcoming seasons.
