San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama is not too fond of Las Vegas. During his postgame press conference on Thursday, after defeating the Portland Trail Blazers, the French phenom admitted that he isn’t the biggest fan “Sin City.”
Wembanyama, 19, participated in the Las Vegas Summer League prior to the 2023-24 NBA season and was evidently not impressed. Lucky for him, he won’t have to return anytime soon.

“I mean, to me, it’s probably the closest thing on Earth to a dystopia,” Wembanyama said. “I’m not the biggest fan of Vegas.”
What made Wemby’s Vegas experience even worse was likely his run-in with pop legend Britney Spears, who tried to get the NBA star’s attention before a security guard knocked her to the ground.
Las Vegas franchise in the works?
LeBron James and Shaquille O’Neal have both expressed interest in owning an NBA franchise in Las Vegas, so maybe Wemby will eventually return to “Sin City.”
If so, it’s safe to say Wembanyama won’t look forward to playing there like many players so often do, especially the likes of James Harden.
For now, Wembanyama keeps proving he is mature beyond his years, and is only in the United States to become one of the greatest NBA players of all time.
