The Los Angeles Lakers are actively involved in trade talks leading up to the 2024 NBA Trade Deadline, with rumors ranging from superstar trades to potential deals involving players such as Austin Reaves.

Meanwhile, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski suggests that the idea of LeBron James‘ son, Bronny James, being drafted by the Lakers is unlikely.

Not expected to join the Lakers soon

While adding Bronny might be seen as a move to please LeBron, Wojnarowski indicates that it may not be necessary, and the possibility of LeBron and Bronny playing together currently seems like a longshot, with the smart money likely leaning towards other scenarios.

“There’s two ways to look at that,” Wojnarowski said.

“Yeah, trying to get him drafted by the Lakers or is there a situation for a young player, going to a team that is more of a developmental team that develops players?

“The Lakers are not a developmental program, they are a win-now program. So, what’s going to be best for Bronny James? What he wants, what they want as an organization.

“I don’t know if it’s as cut and dry as all of it is around the idea of whether he can play with him or not.

“I’m not sure that’s all that’s at stake here. Maybe it’s a factor but I do think for Bronny James – if he’s out this year – the idea of what’s the best place for him too.”
