Police have shut a major road following a serious crash in York.
North Yorkshire Police has closed York Road, in Haxby, between the York Outer Ring Road and Holly Tree Lane. Drivers have been urged to find an alternative route.
The force issued the following statement on social media, it said: “We’re currently dealing with a serious road traffic collision in Haxby. York Road is currently closed between the York Outer Ring Road and Holly Train Lane [sic]. Motorists are advised to find an alternative route.”
The nature of the crash and number of injuries has not yet been disclosed. The force has been asked for further comment.
