Plane Crashes Long Island: 1 Died And 2 Seriously Injured
On Sunday, a small single-engine plane crashed in North Lindenhurst, Long Island, resulting in one death and two serious injuries.
The Piper PA 28 was en route to Republic Airport in Farmingdale, approximately 20 miles east of New York City, when it crashed just short of its destination.
The plane crashed near the Long Island Railroad tracks, and Babylon Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer reported that the pilot had issued a distress call before the crash.
The victim’s identity in the crash has not yet been disclosed; the investigation is ongoing soon; they might reveal information about the pilot and two other people.
No injuries were reported on the ground, only three people were inside the plane, and three were harmed.

The video shows the plane’s engine roaring before a loud bang and an explosion of flames, followed by a plume of black smoke rising from behind the trees.
Ken Defreitas, a resident and volunteer with the West Babylon Fire Department said he heard a series of sounds, including a bang and a squeak, before the explosion.
At first, he thought it was a car backfiring. However, after listening to his pager, he learned that a plane had gone down. He went outside and saw the black smoke rising from the crash site.
Plane Crashes Case Update
The identity of the person who died on the scene has not been disclosed. Two people who have been in Stony Brook University Hospital for their injuries have also not revealed a thing after the incident.
An eyewitness who took the video of the car said, “I ran to the front of House, saw fireball and plume of smoke. Ran outside, made sure everybody down the block was out of houses,”
He mentioned the sound of the plane got his attention. Police have been investigating and interviewed the eye witness who has said detailed information.
