The New England Patriots are dealing with the daunting reality of one of their worst regular season starts of the 21st century. With their 24-17 loss to Miami on SNF, the Pats are facing their first 0-2 start since 2001, the season Tom Brady took over for QB Drew Bledsoe.
The Pats last winless start heading into week 3 came after a vicious hit from Jets defender Mo Lewis, which Drew Bledsoe later assured nearly “cost him” his life.

Despite a valiant effort in Week 1 and Week 2 against the Eagles and Dolphins, respectively, the Pats face the uncertainty of a 0-2 start that is historically a huge hurdle for potential postseason hopes.

Despite some epic playmaking by the New England special teams unit and defense, the Patriots were unable to capitalize on the vast majority of offensive drives. QB Mac Jones, in particular, was not able to return the favor and capitalize the momentum of the team’s D/ST unit.
New England’s lone offensive TDs came from a 6-yard passing TD to tight end Hunter Henry and a 2-yard touchdown run by running back Rhamondre Stevenson.
The Patriots will host the Denver Broncos (also 0-2) next Sunday. Unless a rare and elusive tie occurs, either Belichick’s Pats of Sean Payton’s Broncos will be 0-3 heading into Week 4.
