The Colorado Rapids are reportedly considering appointing Jack Wilshere as their new head coach.
According to The Athletic, the MLS club approached Arsenal, where Wilshere is currently Under-18 manager, and were given permission to talk with the former England midfielder.
It’s said Wilshere impressed in his interview but no decision has yet been made. Both clubs are owned by Stan Kroenke’s Kroenke Sports & Entertainment.
The Rapids are in the market for a new permanent head coach after Robin Fraser was let go last month.
Chris Little was appointed interim head coach with Colorado sitting bottom of the Western Conference two games out from the end of the regular season.

Wilshere was appointed Arsenal Under-18 boss in the summer of 2022, following the end of a playing career that was plagued by injury.
He led the young Gunners to the FA Youth Cup final in his first season in charge and impressed academy manager Per Mertesacker.
‘He’s made a huge impact,’ the German said last season. ‘His ambition, naturally, is one day to go somewhere and coach a first-team, but I’m not letting him at the moment.’
But now Wilshere has reportedly caught the eye across the pond. Any move to Colorado would be made easier by the links between the two clubs.
Former Arsenal defender Auston Trusty previously moved between north London and Denver, joining Arsenal from the Rapids in 2022 before returning to MLS on loan.
