The Golden Globe Awards is one of the most anticipated events for movie buffs around the world. The ceremony, which has been held year after year in January since 1944, is the official start of the awards season for the best of cinema and one of the best thermometers for the Academy Awards that are presented in February.

This year, the list of nominees for Best Motion Picture – Drama includes Anatomy of a Fall, Killers of the Flower Moon, Maestro, Oppenheimer, Past Lives, and The Zone of Interest.

Meanwhile, the Best Director – Motion Picture list is made up of Bradley Cooper for Maestro, Celine Song for Past Lives, Christopher Nolan for Oppenheimer, Greta Gerwig for Barbie, Martin Scorsese for Killers of the Flower Moon, and Yorgos Lanthimos for Poor Things.

The two films with the most nominations are Oppenheimer and Barbie, both with nine, although three of the latter’s nominations are for Best Original Song.

In addition to Best Motion Picture – Drama, Oppenheimer has nominations for Best Male Performance, with Cillian Murphy; Best Female Performance in a Supporting Role, with Emily Blunt; and Best Male Performance in a Supporting Role, with Robert Downey Jr., among other nominations.

The winners will be announced tonight at The Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, California.
