MetLife Stadium was abuzz with anticipation as football fans gathered for the Jets’ highly-anticipated game against their cross-town rivals, the Giants.

However, what caught everyone’s attention was not the kickoff but the sight of Aaron Rodgers, the veteran quarterback, making an appearance on the field before the game.

Rodgers, who has been on the road to recovery after suffering a devastating torn Achilles just a few snaps into his Jets career, arrived at the stadium with determination in his stride, ready to show the world his progress regarding his injured ankle.

The veteran was seen being carted to the locker room door, ready to join his Jets teammates before their clash with the Giants, a matchup filled with rivalry and high stakes.

Rodgers’ remarkable recovery

The 39-year-old’s presence on the field for another pregame passing session is a welcome sign for Jets fans who had initially feared his season was over after the Achilles injury he sustained on September 11.

Just hours before the showdown with the Giants, Rodgers was seen dropping back and throwing passes, a remarkable sign of his progress.

Less than seven weeks ago, this outcome would have seemed unlikely, as such injuries typically sideline athletes for a year.

Rodgers’ resilience and commitment to his recovery have been evident throughout the past few weeks.

Before the Jets’ victory over the Eagles on October 15, he was spotted practicing his throws, but his latest display of dropping back showed that he’s steadily growing more comfortable with his movements.

Rodgers still walking with a slight limp

The four-time MVP has consistently expressed his desire to return to the field this season, but it appears his comeback will be contingent on the Jets’ playoff prospects.

He recently shared his thoughts on his rehabilitation journey on the Pat McAfee Show, saying, “It has been a tough week of rehab with some smaller gains and it’s been more of a grind the last week or so. I’m not walking without a limp yet.”

Rodgers continued, shedding light on the challenges of his recovery, “This is a tough rehab, for sure because there’s so many little muscles that you got to wake up. Not just the calf muscles and foot muscles. Everything needs to work as a unit. You’ve got to be careful walking too much with a limp. The goal isn’t to stretch the Achilles, the goal is to stress the Achilles.”

As Rodgers continues to work tirelessly towards his return, the Jets headed into Week 8 with a 3-3 record.

Meanwhile, the Giants, are in desperate need of a victory, having lost five of their first seven games.
