Erik ten Hag has made signing a new striker a priority this summer.
With Anthony Martial’s continued struggles with injuries, Ten Hag wants a new forward to bolster his attack and indicated this week that the club is close to securing one.
‘We’re making progress but we know how it works and when we have him, we will tell you directly,’ said Ten Hag during his press conference on United’s US tour.
‘The only thing I can say is we’ll do everything in our power to get it done. If it was up to me, yeah, as soon as possible, the earlier the better, because we have to integrate him in the team and the way we play.’
Hojlund scored 10 goals in 34 appearances for Atalanta last season, and has netted six times in six games for the Danish national team.
